Great Walk Bike Ride & Breakfast

Starting at First Fremantle Co-op (or The Left Bank, or Bicton Baths, or Pt Walter) and heading to Pt Heathcote on the hill for breakfast, then return.

You choose where you start, so you can ride as far as you like.

No bike? No problems. It's a beautiful walk... or just meet us there for breakfast.

Pt Heathcote has a beautiful picnic area overlooking the Swan River. There's a playground and gas barbecues.

The Spring/Kambarang Walk will see the Great Walk return to the spectacular Mt Lesueur National Park and the Pinnacles. More information can be found here.


Special General Meething to make changes to Great Walk Networking's constitution
Tuesday, 9th October at 4:30 pm

The Special General Meeting to change the constitution will be held during the October Walk at Mt Lesueur and the Pinnacles, but the location that the Walk will be at on that day has yet to be finalised. Please watch this page for further details as they become available. In the mean time, have a look at the discussion so far on the Constitution forum on the bulletin board.





Mooditj (Great) Cultural Experience
Sunday, 16th September at the Walyunga National Park


The Great Walk invites you to an introduction to Aboriginal culture. Your Nyoongar guides, Koodah and Delvene, will take you through: Tuning in exercise, Dreaming stories, Acknowledgement of site protocols, Tool-making demonstration, an ancient garden, djitti djitti (song and dance) ... and much more!

This day-long workshop is a great opportunity to find out about Aboriginal culture and is available to all Great Walk Members.

  • Registrations must be received by 31st August because places are limited.
  • Cost: $35 / $28 concession.
  • For cultural and traditional reasons, all participants must be 15 years of age or over. We will have similar events of this nature to which we can bring our children.

Starting at First Fremantle Co-op (or The Left Bank, or Bicton Baths, or Pt Walter) and heading to Pt Heathcote on the hill for breakfast, then return.

You choose where you start, so you can ride as far as you like.

No bike? No problems. It's a beautiful walk... or just meet us there for breakfast.

Pt Heathcote has a beautiful picnic area overlooking the Swan River. There's a playground and gas barbecues. We'll also make sure there's a gas cooker or two to boil a billy for a morning cuppa.

Great Walkers- you are invited to a shared meal and photo evening- a chance to get together between walks and keep in touch. Gerard will be presenting photos from the recent Gondwana Walk (your gonna wanna be there!)

If you have photos from the walk please bring them along- on memory stick or CD.

Uluru Walk 2006 Photo Night -- 23rd September

Great Walkers - you are invited to an evening of sharing to celebrate the return of walkers from their epic journey to the centre of this vast land.

When: Saturday September 23rd Starting at 6.00 pm with a shared meal. Then a sharing of experiences; including photos, recollections of memorable moments and impressions of the country passed through.

Where: To be held at the same venue as for other evenings: First Fremantle Housing Collective Hall. Please park on the street. If you need directions/map let me know when you RSVP.

Please bring: a meal to share, a couple pieces of wood for the fire, and for those on the Uluru Walk any photos and memories you would like to share. (Songs or poems welcome). We will have at least one computor for running digital photos so bring CD or memory stick
